The Procedure

We are delighted that you are interested in one of our Australian Labradoodles to join your family!

Our puppies are the heart of our home, and our priority is ensuring that each one finds a loving, lifelong environment where they can thrive. As a serious breeder, we review every application carefully to find the perfect match between a puppy and your lifestyle.

Completing our application form is a necessary first step before we can place you on our waiting list. At Labradoodle Portugal, our goal is to find the perfect match for every puppy.

Placement on our lists is subject to approval; we only accept families who we believe are a strong fit for our dogs. Your detailed answers on this application form are the first step in this important selection process.

    To keep your puppy longer with us is not a problem, we charge €75,- per week (or part thereof) after the puppy is 10 weeks old.

 

Your Options


Option 1: The PRIORITY Waiting List

For families who wish to secure their place at the front of the line. PRIORITY members are given first choice of available puppies. We offer only a limited number of PRIORITY spots per litter. We will contact you within 24 hours of your application to discuss your preferences and options. A non-refundable deposit of €350 is required at the time we accept you for one of our PRIORITY spot reservations. This amount is fully deducted from the total puppy price. payable at pick up. If a puppy matching your specific wishes is not available in the current litter, your deposit and priority status will remain valid for a future litter that meets your requirements.

Option 2: The FREE Waiting List
For families who are happy to wait for general availability. If puppies remain available after all members of the Priority List have been contacted and matched, we will reach out to those on the FREE Waiting List. This list also operates on a first-come, first-served basis among approved applicants. There is no deposit required to join this list. Important Note For both lists, we operate on a "first-come, first-served" basis among approved families. We take great care in our selection process to ensure a happy, lifelong bond between our puppies and their new homes.

Option 3: Guardian Home

Would you like to provide a loving "forever home" to one of our pick-of-the-litter puppies while they remain part of our breeding program? This unique opportunity allows you to welcome a top-quality Labradoodle into your family at no initial cost.

Holiday and more...

Holiday

🐾 We offer an exclusive holiday boarding service only for the dogs that were born here at Labradoodle Portugal. It is the perfect way for your doodle to stay in a home they know and love! Pricing: €30 per night (covers up to 24 hours) per dog.

Safety First: For the well-being of our pack, all dogs must have current vaccinations and cannot be in heat during their stay. Reservations at least 30 days in advance and subject to availability.

Grooming

As a Labradoodle breeder, I know these coats inside and out. To ensure the highest level of care and familiarity, I offer professional grooming services exclusively for dogs from my own litters and their housemates. If your pup is ready for a refresh, let me know what you're looking for, and I’ll be happy to provide a price estimate.

Finding the perfect home for my dogs knows no borders. I have years of experience safely placing my puppies with families all over the world. If you’re international, don't worry—I'm here to guide you through every step of the travel and paperwork process to ensure your new companion arrives happy and healthy.

When you choose one of our dogs, you are not just buying a pet; you are welcoming a fully health-tested, verifiable family member.

Pedigree & Health Assurance

  • Official Pedigree: Every puppy comes with registration from the Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association (WALA). (In some litters the Dutch DALC pedigree association)

  • DNA Verification: We do DNA profiling for all our breeding dogs to prove parentage, guaranteeing that the parents are exactly who we say they are.

  • DNA Health testing: We do a full health screening panel for all our breeding dogs through EMBARK. This way we can ensure none of our puppies will be affected by any genetic disease that could have been prevented by testing for it.
  • SIAC Registration: Official Registration with SIAC Portuguese Database 

  • Health Testing: Both parents have undergone extensive official health testing: HIPS, ELBOWS, PATELLA (OFA) and OPTHALMOLOGY EXAM (ECVO) to minimize the risk of hereditary issues.

  • Veterinary Care: Your puppy will go home with a Pet Passport, a microchip, an official Veterinary Health Certificate, their first vaccination, and will have had four deworming treatments.

Information, the Contract, Reservation and Deposit

  • Information: We provide an information package by email after reservation to guarantee you have all the information you need to welcome your new family member home.

  • Contract: We operate with a strict purchase agreement that includes a  2 year genetic health guarantee and a non-breeding clause. Our puppies are sold strictly as family companions. If you are a breeder interested in breeding prospects, please contact us directly to discuss specific possibilities.

  • Deposit: To secure your puppy, we require a 25% non-refundable deposit. This amount is due within 3 days of reservation.

Socialization from Day One

 

Our puppies are raised right in the heart of our home, the living room, ensuring they are truly an integral part of our family from the moment they are born. They are not kept in kennels; they are exposed to the daily rhythm of a busy household, becoming accustomed to all the normal ambient sounds, smells, and sensations—from the vacuum cleaner and television to the playful chaos of children. We are dedicated to handling and engaging with them every single day, ensuring they develop deep trust in humans and foundational confidence in their environment.

They benefit immensely from playing with our children and safely interacting with our other adult dogs up until the day they leave for their new homes. This constant, positive exposure teaches crucial canine social etiquette and bite inhibition.

Once they receive their first vaccination, typically around 7 weeks, the world truly opens up! We meticulously take them out as much as possible, always in a safe and secure way (using slings or carriers to protect them from ground pathogens). These important field trips include exposure to the vibrant noise and unique smells of the market, the quiet curiosity of the garden center, the energetic atmosphere of the schoolyard, and—a family favorite—the gentle, therapeutic cuddles at the retirement home.

By immersing them in this array of diverse sensory experiences, we aim to provide them with the best possible early socialization, building a critical foundation of resilience, confidence, and adaptability. Our puppies are ready to transition to their new families at 8 to 10 weeks of age, having been microchipped, vet-checked, and vaccinated. However, we always stress that this developmental process must continue in their new environment to ensure they flourish and grow into well-adjusted, stable adult dogs.
